Environmental permits and approvals coordinator for detailed design and construction of the effluent outfall tunnel. During detailed design, responsible for liaising with Conservation Authorities, Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry (MNRF), and Town of Oakville. Obtained multiple O.Reg. 162/06 Permit applications from Conservation Halton, updated environmental contract specifications and drawings, and obtained species at risk approval from the MNR. During construction, responsible for conducting regular environmental inspections of multiple construction sites, ensuring compliance against a wide range of environmental permit conditions. Responsible for liaising with the contractor’s environmental manager, reviewing submittals, and preparing monitoring and non-compliance reports.
Eglinton-Scarborough Crosstown (ESC) Project, Toronto, ON
Environmental Designer for the Eglinton-Scarborough Crosstown project, responsible for:
Overseeing environmental permits and approvals submissions and amendments,
Reviewing environmental contract drawings, documents and specifications,
Designing stormwater management and erosion and sediment controls, including the design of CAD drawings using the Bentley Microstation software suite,
Coordinating preparation of a preliminary Environmental Management Plan (EMP),
Creating dewatering discharge drawings, reports, and Request for Information’s (RFI’s),
Preparing vegetation and heritage survey drawings and reports,
Preparing noise and vibration reports for preliminary-design (pre-design),
Coordinating submission of environmental sections for various pre-design contracts,
Writing and editing addenda to the Environmental Project Report.
Irving Woodside Marine Terminal, Halifax, Nova Scotia
Conducted a series of preliminary site visits, in order to accurately determine the scope of the project and level of anticipated effects. Assisted in the preparation of an environmental and socio-economic review report in support of Halifax Port Authority’s CEAA Environmental Review Form. Assisted in obtaining DFO approval for the project, which included on-site assessments and regular collaboration with the DFO Dartmouth Office. Coordinated and produced an environmental management plan (EMP) to guide the construction and post-construction process and ensure compliance with environmental permits and approvals. Provided input for environmental contract specifications and drawings. Provided training for placement of an on-site environmental site inspector.
